Children's Machine Sewing Lessons - Art Wrap

Children's Machine Sewing Lessons - Art Wrap

Overview

A day for children aged 8-17 to learn how to use a sewing machine.

This half-day class is the perfect fit for you if you have just started out, or have never even used a sewing machine before. We will teach you:

  • How to choose an appropriate stitch.
  • How to use a sewing machine - reverse stitch, starting and finishing your work.
  • Changing stitch length.
  • How to safely press your work for the best results.
  • How to use batting/wadding.
  • How to sew channels.

You will feel comfortable using a machine, so that together we can make an Art Wrap by the end of the class.

All materials will be provided, you will be able to pick a fat quarter when you arrive, to match a provided lining fabric.

This class is designed to help you gain the confidence you need to continue your sewing journey once you get home. Learning some of the basic rules of sewing will give you the best start to help you flourish in your new hobby.

Each ticket covers the use of ONE sewing machine and ONE set of materials for the class. If adults would like to make their own project (not just supervise) another ticket must be purchased.

This is a 2 hour class.

All children aged between 8 - 15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Who will be responsible for their behaviour and safety during the class. Children aged 16-17 do not need an accompanying adult.

Supplied: Machines, Fabric, Scissors, Pins, Tape Measures, Haberdashery, Tea, Coffee and squash.
