Chilled weekend glass fusing workshop
Make stunning fused glass homewares in our peaceful & cosy studio, our classes are suitable for beginners & improvers.
Join us for a chilled weekend fuse in our 2 hour class (longer than usual). Our class sizes are small to allow for some 1:1 time with glass artist Chan Foy, who will guide you through the principles of glass fusing including breaking glass, layering, making metal inclusions using Bullseye glass, stringers and frit. You'll make one main piece of glass and if time allows smaller pieces can be made. Your creations are fired & are ready to be picked up from the studio in around 2 weeks time. We will email you when your glass is ready to be collected (check your spam/junk as our emails often land in here).
Refreshments are provided, please feel free to bring snacks and an apron.
When you arrive at Vine Grove, head for the ORANGE TEARDROP FLAG, please walk to the turning circle at the top of the cul de sac, Chan will be around to greet you. There is a passage way between our house and the tidy neighbours, please come down this and turn RIGHT, you'll see the studio in the back garden. To access the studio you will walk down two steps on to the garden path, then two steps up into the studio.
Parking is recommended on a nearby side street - Akesmoor Drive (SK2 6BU), it is a few minutes walk from the studio. There is limited parking for Blue Badge holders near the studio so please email in advance if you require a place reserving (there are 2 parking spaces).
Access into the studio is two steps down into the garden and two steps up into the studio, the door has a small lip on it so you will need to step over this. We will be using a variety of tools on the day to break glass, email us if you have any challenges with your hands to check this out (recent injury/surgery or limitet use).
We look forward to meeting you and starting your glass journey with us:)
