Chinese Knot Making Workshop
Learn a new craft with a hands-on Chinese knot workshop. Learn several knots, design your own charms whilst sipping Chinese tea!
Chinese Knot Making Workshop
After popular demand, we are back with our Chinese Knot Making Workshop! Join us in an afternoon of creativity, culture, and connection at the beautiful setting of On A Whim, Margate.
For first timers, in this hands-on workshop, you’ll be introduced to the rich history and symbolism of traditional Chinese knotting. We’ll explore the origins of Chinese knots, along with the meanings behind different knot styles and colours, so you can craft with intention as well as creativity.
You’ll then be guided step-by-step in learning different traditional knotting techniques, building your skills and confidence as you go. No experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
Once you’ve learned the foundations, you’ll have the freedom to design and create your own Chinese knot charm, combining knots, colours, and decorative elements to make a piece that’s uniquely yours — perfect to keep, gift, or hang for good fortune in the year ahead.
For those of you who joined the first workshop, enjoy this refresher and chance to make more delightful Chinese knot charms!
✨ All materials are included, along with a warming Chinese tea to enjoy as you craft.
Join us for a relaxed, welcoming session that blends culture sharing, mindfulness, and creativity in a truly special space.
