Hosted in partnership with EcoWorld Ballymore x Cartografie Chocolate for The Merit Club community.We’re thrilled to bring you this luxury chocolate truffle making masterclasses in partnership with exciting new chocolatier, Cartografie.Ladies, let’s get creative in the comfort of your own kitchen this Valentines day and learn a new skill with top chocolatiers and new City Island resident, Cartografie. Hosted by the founders; Kae Shibata, ex-Pastry Chef at The Ritz, and Sven-Hanson Britt, Winner of Masterchef The Professionals–The Rematch 2019, they will guide us through the ultimate luxury truffle making masterclass.THE CHOCOLATIERSCartografie is the brand-new chocolate company with a conscience; not only does it produce Michelin-star quality handmade single origin chocolates, it also cares deeply about sustainability, biodiversity, and ethics.Every Cartografie product is made by Kae and her team at their chocolate studio at London City Island, where people can witness the chocolate being handcrafted and purchase there and then, literally fresh from the expert chocolatiers. Unlike competitors, Cartografie’s focus is not on bean to bar, instead they bring in a delicious, established, single-origin couverture and turn it into the perfect box of chocolates. The craftmanship and creativity of Cartografie matches the ethos of London City Island, a vibrant cultural and artistic hub situated on a 12-acre island on Leamouth Peninsula, East London. The riverside neighbourhood is an example of leading property developer EcoWorld Ballymore’s ambition to deliver innovative developments with design, culture and creativity at their core. London City Island comprises over 1,700 homes, independent artisan restaurants, shops, creative hubs and al fresco spaces. The development takes its inspiration from the area’s maritime heritage, with bold primary colours and making use of its waterside surroundings with river walkways. Additionally, all Island residents benefit from membership of the City Island Arts Club, the island’s own private residents’ club which includes a striking red swimming pool of bright, seafaring red tiles - the trademark hue which appears throughout the island. WHAT TO EXPECT?You will receive your Truffle making kit through the post a few days before the event, ready for you to create your beautiful truffles. Included in the kits are fresh ganache, ganache ingredients, truffle coating, plus a recipe to make your own truffles in the future once you’ve learned the skill. To ensure you get into the creative spirit, Cartografie will also include a pre-mixed chocolate espresso martini for you to enjoy while creating your truffles.
