Join us at Duncan Place Community Hub to celebrate World Chocolate Day with a delicious, hands-on chocolate workshop.

About this event

July 7th, is World Chocolate Day, and we can't think of a better way to spend it, than with a deliciously, hands-on and informative chocolate workshop, delivered by chocolate expert Nadia Williams from local Edinburgh company Thinking Chocolate.

This bespoke workshop (limited to 20 people) will include:

• An Introduction to Chocolate

• Sampling of Cocoa Nibs and Butter

• Tasting of Couvertures from around the world

• Chocolate making demonstration ( A selection of Tarte au Chocolat, Baci de Dama, Chocolate Domes and Truffles)

• Ganache making demonstration

• Hands on making session

• Q and A (with an opportunity for a comfort break)

• Gift wrapping of items to take home

• Recipe sheet to take home

Session lasts for approximately 2 hours.

Ticket Pricing

Duncan Place Community Hub are offering three levels of ticket price for this workshop to try and accommodate differing financial circumstances. Please choose the ticket price suggestion most appropriate to your circumstances.

  • Price A - £17 - You have an unsteady or low income, and are not often able to attend paid events.
  • Price B - £22 - You have a steady income and are able to occasionally attend paid events.
  • Price C - £27 - You have disposable income and are able to regularly attend paid events.


The event will be held on the ground floor of the venue and is wheelchair accessible.

Please advise us of any food allergies or dietary requirements in the booking form.

Getting Here

Duncan Place is a few minutes’ walk from Leith Walk, Duke Street, Great Junction Street and Easter Road. This area is very well served with buses, including 1, 7, 14, 16, 21, 22, 25, 34, 35, 42 & 49 has a journey planner.

Bike racks are available in our outdoor space. Please bring a secure lock. We do not have any to loan out & bikes are not allowed in the building. Bikes are left at your own risk and Duncan Place will not accept any responsibility for any damage or theft. CCTV does cover the bike racks.

Duncan Place has 1 disabled parking space and 1 further space, both available on a first come basis.

Free on street parking is available in the surrounding streets. This is busy so please leave enough time to find a space.
