Christ Crucified: the meaning and consequences of the death of Jesus (ACT 800)

Tuesday 27th - Friday 30th May 2025

Led by Steve Wood

In the New Testament the public portrayal of the crucified Jesus stands at the forefront. The meaning of the Cross is multi-layered and its consequences world changing. From the Old and New Testaments, we will explore both aspects of the death of Jesus, and their implications for us today.

Using the ancient Christian practice of Lectio Divina (‘divine reading’) - an approach which includes hearing, meditation, prayer, and contemplation – the workshops will be both devotional and practical. Notes and further reading /study recommendations will be provided.

Steve is a member of the events team at Ashburnham, and with his wife Eve co-hosts the Time-Out breaks. He studied theology at Heythrop College (University of London), gaining a BA(Hons) in Biblical Studies and an MA in Christian Theology.
