Overview

A creative space online for people with long-term health conditions

Laura Rees, Monique Jackson, Rebecca Manson Jones and friends will be opening up the Creative Café space online across February – December 2025.

Our virtual Café is a comforting confidential safe space hosted by artist-facilitators with long term health conditions. It’s very informal - join for as long as you want, from your bed or your sofa, screen on or screen off. You’ll find the Creative Café has just the view you imagine, and the perfect drinks/snacks for you, made by you.

Using breathing exercises, imagination, story, writing, sketching or craft, we offer a moment of connection with other people “who get it” people who understand what it is to live with illness. Ours is a space to share experiences and explore with creativity the possibilities and realities of who you are now. Whether you’re a newbie to your condition or you’ve been living with it for years, a pro-artist or someone who just likes the vibe, you’re welcome. You might like to have some paper, pen, pencils, objects from nature handy, or make pictures in your mind.

Other things to note:

Chronically Creative is free and the sessions are for deliberately small numbers. Please sign up in advance and if your fatigue or life defeats you on the day, pop us a note, so we can let someone else have your place. We’ll send a reminder and an invite link to the Zoom space.

BSL Communication Support

Sophie Holland will be providing BSL Communications Support at each session.
