CHS x Outdoor Adventure Girls: Cotswolds Spotlight: River Ramble


Join Outdoor Adventure Girls, a female adventure community providing safe and inclusive environments for women to reconnect with nature, the outdoors, and each other on a river hike through the Cotswolds. This 12km hike through the beautiful Cotswolds boasts green rolling hills, woodland valleys, crystal clear streams and glorious toffee-coloured villages. The hike starts in Lower Slaughter before heading on to Bourton on the Water where there will be a stop for coffee and a wander, before returning back to the starting point in Upper Slaughter.

  • Active wear (e.g. leggings/hiking trousers, t-shirt and fleece)
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Hiking boots or hiking trainers (must have a strong grip)
  • Reuseable water bottle and snacks
  • Hiking poles (if needed)
  • Hat and gloves (in case of bad weather)

Can I come with my children?

Unfortunately, this event is reserved for adults only. However, we are considering organizing hikes specifically aimed at young audiences in the future. We encourage you to stay informed about upcoming activities.

There are no more tickets available. Can I still come with a friend?

We must adhere to the established capacity limits for supervision and safety reasons. Therefore, we cannot accommodate additional people once all tickets have been distributed. However, your friend can sign up for the waiting list.

What happens in case of bad weather?

At Columbia, we believe that "There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing." We recommend waterproof clothing for our hikes. However, in case of extreme weather conditions, we may have to cancel or postpone the event. We will keep you informed via email.

Do I need special equipment to participate in the hike?

Although we recommend comfortable hiking shoes and appropriate weather gear, no special equipment is required to participate. However, we encourage you to check the suggested equipment list provided in the event description.

Can I cancel my participation after registering?

Yes, you can withdraw from participating in the hike after registering. However, we encourage you to inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to participate so that we can offer your spot to someone else on the waiting list.

How do I get to the event and what about parking?

The meeting point has been chosen to allow participants to park easily. However, whenever possible, we recommend using public transportation or carpooling if you are coming with others.
