At this open day you will have the opportunity to learn more about our Level 2 Practical Horticulture course in the beautifully unique setting of St Ann's Allotments.

You will have the opportunity to see the different plots, discuss course details and meet some of the course leaders!

10am - Arrival

10:15amm - Course Presentation & Information

11am - Tour of STAA's project sites on St Ann's Allotments with the course leader

12noon (approx) - Return from tour for any further questions, information.

During this tour we will visit the two project sites in which the course is held, The Heritage Garden, and The Nursery and you will have the opportunity to meet some of the current students studying the course. The tour will be led by the course leader, Sam.

There are some uphill areas on this tour, please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

There will also be the opportunity after the tour to ask further questions, discuss options and course routes with you. If you wished not to go on the tour, there will be members of the team to answer any questions you might have.

About the Course

Grow Your Own - This essential gardening course will develop learners’ skills in growing vegetables and flowers from seed, maintaining growing spaces and improving soil fertility, rearing soft fruit bushes and canes and harvesting produce.

Pro Gardener - Focusing on fundamental practical skills in horticulture, this professional gardening course enables learners to develop skills such as pruning, planting out, pedestrian-operated tool use and plant identification.

Each route will lead you to a qualification in City & Guilds Practicial Horticulture (7573)
