About the Course

We offer two routes into the qualification highlighted below where you can achieve either an award, certificate or diploma.

Grow Your Own - This essential gardening course will develop learners’ skills in growing vegetables and flowers from seed, maintaining growing spaces and improving soil fertility, rearing soft fruit bushes and canes and harvesting produce.

Pro Gardener - Focusing on fundamental practical skills in horticulture, this professional gardening course enables learners to develop skills such as pruning, planting out, pedestrian-operated tool use and plant identification.

This course is ran by STAA, a small charity that manages a number of highly regarded projects across 30+ plots at St Ann's Allotments that provide community benefit and offer a wide variety of volunteering opportunities.
