Reading Plato's Republic - Stephanus numbers 412 to 448. The Guardians' life and duties. This follows on from the Guardians' primary education from the last session. This is where get to grips with Plato's Noble Lie. This is a challenging and important aspect of Plato's theory of the state and the individual. It is very challenging to those of us with a liberal view of the state and the person.
