Get ready for a cosy, creative and slightly spooky evening at Pictura Chester.
In this relaxed clay workshop, you’ll create your own handmade ghost lantern from clay, complete with cut-out features designed to glow beautifully once lit from inside.
You can keep your ghost cute, spooky, wonky or completely unique — there’s no right or wrong way to make it.
Our friendly tutor will guide you through the hand-building process step by step, so no previous clay experience is needed.
This is designed as a fun social evening rather than a formal pottery class, making it perfect for friends, date nights, birthdays or simply trying something different.
Once finished, your ghost will stay with us to be carefully dried, fired and glazed. Your finished piece will then be ready to collect approximately 4 weeks later.

Good to Know
- No experience necessary
- Suitable for complete beginners
- Please arrive around 10 minutes before the session starts
- Aprons are provided, but clay can be messy
- Your ghost will be left with us after the session for drying, firing and glazing
- Finished pieces will be ready to collect approximately 4 weeks later
- We’ll contact you once your lantern is ready for collection
- Spaces are limited
