The National Lottery Community Fund

This is an information session for projects interested in applying to the Climate Action Fund Energy and Climate priority.

The Climate Action Fund launched in 2019 and is a 10-year £100 million programme to demonstrate what’s possible when people and communities take a leading role in tackling climate change. With National Lottery funding, funded projects work together, share their learning and be active participants in a broader movement of change.We are now open to applications from community-driven energy projects that can deliver environmental and societal benefits for people and communities across the UK.The UK is committed to cut emissions by 78% by 2035. Energy use in homes makes up about 20% of UK carbon emissions. These are formed through heating, hot water and using electric appliances. Changing how we use energy will have a big impact on our climate, helping to reduce carbon emissions while also delivering financial, health and wellbeing benefits for people and communities.As we shift towards a low carbon sustainable future and the achievement of renewable energy targets, the Climate Action Fund is interested in supporting community-driven projects that will help communities to engage with opportunities arising from the shift to a sustainable energy future, inspire action at scale and develop long term sustainable behaviours.This fund is not for small-scale projects with limited potential to scale, and we cannot support projects that are largely looking for capital funding. Instead, we are looking to support ambitious projects with a strong track record and the potential to build momentum and inspire others to take action across the UK. We are particularly interested in projects that can bring different players together to achieve longer-term transformational change.T﻿his session is designed to help you understand if this funding programme is suitable for your group.
