Do you feel hopeless, anxious, panicky, frustrated?

A central aim of this climate café is to give permission for conversations that are difficult to have amoung friends, family and colleagues. We will create an open confidential space for these difficult conversations that concern our feelings about the climate crisis; for example feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, panic and frustration. Other than mutual support, acceptance and respect for the views of others, there is no group agenda. While not denying the value of action, the emphasis is here is on the work of listening and digesting what is felt to be unbearable when separate and alone.The format for this first climate cafe starts with a welcome and space to share concerns after which there will be a short break for refreshments followed by storytime. The aim of storytime is to leaven the possible heaviness of these conversations with the creative power of imagination. We will bring a short story each time as a catalyst for thinking and feeling about our climate crisis.We, Maggie, Sarah &amp; Chris are locals who have been involved for several years with the Climate Psychology Alliance <a href="http://www.climatepsychologyalliance.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">www.climatepsychologyalliance.org</a> and its aim of facing difficult truths. Sakaya, at 79 Salusbury Road, is providing the space for this initial meeting and we hope to continue monthly on the first Saturday of each month. Although we hope to continue on a journey with you, no commitment is needed to future meetings. The group will be limited in size to a maximum of 18. The fee of £5.00 will go to The Climate Psychology Alliance and is to cover expenses and to further it&#x27;s work.We look forward to meeting you!
