Climate Change, Turning Knowledge into Action
Mon 29 May 2017, 11:00 – 14:00 BST
This one-day training course aims to clarify both the meaning and importance of climate change, as well as enable students to come up with strategies that will reduce their carbon footprint. The UK requires a low-carbon economy in order to be able to be able to reach its goal of 80% reduction in Greenhouse emissions by 2050. Therefore, all large organisations are now obliged to produce annual carbon footprint reports and set targets in order to reduce their emissions on an annual basis. This means that employers are increasingly looking into hiring people with knowledge of carbon footprint reduction strategies. Thus, participating in this course and mentioning this in your CV or interview is likely to increase your chances of getting employed.
Those who will complete the Climate Change training will receive an official certificate on behalf of the Student Union of the University of Huddersfield.
