Hack the Climate Crisis and win a £10k Grant

Did you know we have less than ten years to prevent irreversible damage from climate change?If you&#x27;re as concerned about the planet as we are, help make a difference by taking part in Hack the Climate Crisis!A hackathon (<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hackathon" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">what is a hackathon?</a>) that&#x27;s open to students from Queen’s University and Ulster University, this interactive two-day event will take place virtually and the winning team will receive a £10,000 Proof of Concept grant from techstart and be accepted onto the Ulster Bank Climate accelerator*.Hosted by Ulster Bank’s Entrepreneurship team, students will be put into teams to come up with innovative ideas to solve a climate-focused challenge. Along the way you’ll go through problem solving, rapid prototyping, design sprints, pitch writing and more! At the end of the two days, a team of international judges will pick a winning team, who’ll receive these exciting prizes. This is your way of making a local difference in solving a global problem.Day 1 timings: 10am-4pmDay 2 timings: 10am-5.15pmThe panel who will judge each team&#x27;s entry on day 2 are:<ul><li>Denise McQuaid, CEO GoBeyond Investing, an early stage European investment ecosystem</li><li>Danny O&#x27;Brien, Managing Director EMEA, SVG Ventures, the most active AgTech investor 2020 (Crunchbase)</li><li>Ryan McAnlis, Investment Director, Techstart Ventures, a leading investor of seed capital across Scotland and Northern Ireland</li></ul>*Subject to meeting criteriaPlease note this event is only open to students of Queen&#x27;s University Belfast and Ulster University.
