Climate Hustings
Join us to hear from and quiz candidates of the main political parties on the climate and nature action they would take if elected.
What is a hustings?
A hustings is a pre-election event which often has a particular focus. This climate hustings will bring together local political candidates to discuss climate action, the transition to net zero, and the opportunities and challenges this presents for our communities.
Who can attend?
Everyone can participate in a hustings. Joining is worthwhile even if you don't have a specific question but want to find out more about the positions of parties or candidates on a particular issue. It will provide a chance for members of the public to hear directly from candidates about their priorities and to ask questions.
What is the format of the event?
The event will include an introduction, short opening statements from each candidate, followed by moderated questions and audience Q&A.

- Emma Macdonald, Liberal Democrats

The event will be moderated by Hans Marter, Shetland News editor.

This event is organised by Climate Cafe Shetland. We try to meet monthly at Islesburgh Community Centre to discuss climate and nature action, and often have guest speakers/presentations.
