Climate Resilient Infrastructure Workshop

EnTRESS supports Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) on the development and adoption of environmental technologies and resource efficient processes. EnTRESS is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to promote sustainable economic growth.EnTRESS engages with SMEs and large organisations to link academic research into business, driving innovation in areas such as waste management, bioremediation, biopolymers, pollution control and sustainable operations. We understand that the environmental technologies sector is a varied and fast moving, so EnTRESS will provide the practical support to help SMEs engage with these innovations.EnTRESS is part of the University of Wolverhampton's Faculty of Science and Engineering.

EnTRESS (Environmental Technologies & Resource Efficiency Support Service)

Our infrastructure, needed for the operation of society and enterprise (e.g. buildings, roads, hospitals, railways, power supplies), is already vulnerable to today’s extreme weather fluctuations.  Continued climate change will increase these vulnerabilities affecting supply, access to resources, operations and patterns of demand.  At this workshop we will look into how we can adapt infrastructure to reduce the impacts of climate change.  In doing so we will produce opportunities for infrastructure operators, consultancies, engineers and researchers to work together to develop the skills and capabilities necessary to invest in, design, build and maintain infrastructure for the future. 
There will be presentations from academics and businesses along with opportunities for discussions and networking, and a lunch buffet to finish.
 
Aim
 
This FREE workshop, organised by <A HREF="https://www.wlv.ac.uk/business-services/funding-and-support/entress-environmental-technologies-and-resource-efficiency-support-service/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">EnTRESS</A>, will enable all parties in the infrastructure sector to exchange ideas of the challenges posed by climate change and the technical solutions that are available, or can be developed, to tackle these challenges.  From this event the University of Wolverhampton would like to create partnerships with attendees for potential future research collaborations and funding applications in this topic area.
