Overview

Interested in telling stories on stage, screen and audio about the climate crisis? Join this friendly workshop for all levels of experience.

"Greatest storytelling opportunity of our era" (Daniel Hinerfeld).

Over two hours, we'll explore how to create compelling narratives, complex characters and enjoyable scenes from the climate crisis. This will be a practical and fun session with a variety of activities.

If you are interested in submitting something to the Climate Playwriting Prize, this is a great opportunity to get your ideas kickstarted. Or if you've been working on something for sometime, you'll leave having explored your ideas in a safe and supportive space.

All levels of experience are welcome, you just need an open-mind and be friendly and supportive.

Book early as our last workshop was sold out!

About Wise Ram Theatre

Wise Ram Theatre is a neurodiverse theatre company exploring the climate crisis with heart, humour and nerve, based in London and Essex. Our first production ‘Decommissioned’ ("playful, heartfelt, educational, and intimate") premiered in 2023, exploring climate anxiety and the impact of sea level rise on rural communities. We are currently developing a show in Jaywick, near Clacton in Essex, exploring extreme heat using an innovative ‘community commission’ approach. ‘Sundream’ is a historical, romantic comedy described by locals who saw a work-in-progress performance as “wonderful, heartwarming, evocative, brilliant” and “very nostalgic”. We have worked with organisations including the UK Theatre Theatre Green Book and Carbon Literacy Project, the Glitch/VAULT festival, Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, the Old Fire Station Oxford, Greenwich University, UCL, Falmouth University, Essex Book Festival and Creative Colchester.

Pricing

We've got three tiers of ticket price - the higest price supports our work in creating climate theatre with and for communities.

If you would like a free ticket, please email hello@wiseramtheatre.co.uk - no need to explain why.

The venue is wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair accessible toilet.

Please let us know if you have any access needs or if there's something you want to share about what you need to learn.
