🌍 Sustainable Fashion Clothes Swap Event 🌿Join us for an exciting afternoon of sustainable fashion and community get together at our Second Clothes Swap Event, being held during September in support of the second-hand September Initiative. Together, we'll celebrate sustainable fashion choices, promote environmental consciousness, and enjoy a great afternoon with like-minded individuals. September is a great time to be reviewing your wardrobe in preparation for Autumn/Winter seasons and what better way to replace with new items you will love! Date: Saturday September 23, 2023 Time: 15:30 PM - 17:30 PM📍 Venue Information 🏢 Location: Robyn's Nest, School Green, Shinfield, Reading RG2 9EH. (T﻿his event is being held at Robyn's Nest cafe in Shinfield, not the Moss end cafe, which is a change of venue to the last event). 👕 H﻿ow the Clothes Swap Will Work Y﻿ou can bring up to 5 good quality and clean items of Women's clothing, shoes, or accessories.For every item you bring, you’ll get a token that can be used to swap for another item at the clothes swap. You will get to inject your wardrobe with some new items that give you joy and your preloved items will also go to a great new home! Hooray!Ideally autumn/winter focused women's clothing for this particular swap.Please bring your clothing items on hangers.T﻿he clothes can be any size and should be in great condition.Any clothes not swapped will be taken to an amazing local charity, Smart Works Reading, which helps unemployed women back into the workplace through coaching and clothing. 👗 The Full Clothes Swap Event Highlights 1️⃣ Clothing Exchange: Bring your gently used/ quality women's clothing or accessories. It's the perfect opportunity to refresh your wardrobe sustainably and find unique pieces to revamp your style. There will also be a separate section for those that just wish to donate any additional clothes (beyond the 5 to be swapped) for the Smart Works Charity directly. 2️⃣ Sustainability Showcasing: Discover a curated selection of local businesses passionate about sustainability in fashion, in our homes and beyond. They will showcase eco-friendly and ethically produced items, offering you inspiration for a greener and more conscious wardrobe and home. This includes:<ul><li> Preloved Print, a fabulous local preloved clothing brand who specialise in beautiful printed dresses and colourful clothing</li><li>Arborfill, who help households reduce single use plastic </li><li>Berries &amp; Bundles who provide sustainable period products and advice as well as make-up reusables.</li><li>Petits Carreaux will offer a clinic on how to mend and repair clothing items! </li></ul><ul><li>Beauty on the Green - as a little treat for attendees Abi will be offering complimentary skin softening hand treatments! (first come first served on the day!). </li></ul>3️⃣ Coffee and Cake: While you are discovering some new items for your wardrobe, treat yourself to a complimentary hot drink and piece of delicious cake included as part of the ticket price. It's the perfect way to relax and recharge during the event. Additional refreshments will be available to purchase on the day.4️⃣ Charity Raffle for Smart Works: Participate in our exciting raffle for a chance to win fabulous prizes donated by our generous local businesses and proceeds of this will go to charity. With every ticket, you contribute to the success of our event and support our mission to promote sustainable fashion practices.🎟️ Ticket Information 🎫Entry Fee: £12 and includes access to the clothes swap, a complimentary beverage, and a delicious slice of cake and chance to shop and pick up sustainability tips from local businesses. A﻿s an image consultant who specialises in colour analysis, I'm always really keen for individuals to dress in a way that is authentic to them and I help them by showing them which colours look fantastic on them. I want to help individuals to make their wardrobes work harder by having items they are going to love and wear again and again and swapping is a great way to try new things out and help understand your existing wardrobe. I first started 'swishing' (clothes swapping) with friends over 10 years ago! I'm really keen to help our local area contribute to the circular fashion economy and bring a community of like minded individuals together for a fun evening and to help donate to charity. I'm super excited to host my second public clothes swapping event!DISCLAIMERWe take no responsibility for garments donated and swapped. Please bring items you are happy to swap and that are of good quality. We reserve the right to refuse items that are torn, damaged, or not meeting the minimum standards. You may not find items of the same quality as the ones you bring. Once you have donated an item you will not be able to change your mind after token exchange. Thrive With Colour accepts no liability for any claim or loss resulting from any transaction taking place at the swapping event. All clothing and accessories remaining after the event will be donated to local charities. No ticket refunds are available for this event. Please note that filming/photography is taking place at this event for promotional and archival purposes. The photographs and recordings made are likely to appear on our website. If you would prefer not to be photographed please let us know.
