WINTER MEETUP OF CLOUDSTACK EUROPEAN USER GROUP
The CloudStack European User Group's next meetup is in Berlin! 
Come along to hear talks from CloudStack experts and users from this vibrant open-source community. We will be discussing various aspects of CloudStack, such as development, history, architecture, operation, the direction of the project and how you can contribute. All welcome!
As always, there will be some great speakers, the chance to meet and collaborate with other CloudStack users, and an informal gathering afterwards over a drink! Lunch from 1200, first talk 1300.
The event will be co-hosted by itelligence Global Managed Services GmbH and Heinlein Support GmbH.

CloudStack news, Giles Sirett. Giles will talk about all that's new and happening within the Apache CloudStack community, and about new and future releases, exciting features, upcoming events and more!
Importing VMware infrastructures into CloudStack, Andre Paul. The talk will show how the VMware ingestion feature uses existing VMware Zones, and ‘imports’ them into CloudStack. We will describe the process by which database entries of already existing components of an existing virtual machine are created and how it enables CloudStack to safely manage such instances even though they were not initially set up by CloudStack.
CloudStack and Terraform, Robert Sander. This talk will give an introduction on how to use Terraform to deploy CloudStack infrastructure (VMs, Networks, Storage, etc.) using the Terraform cloudstack modules.
Primate, a new CloudStack UI, Paul Angus. There is currently significant effort going on in the Apache CloudStack community to develop a new, modern, UI (user interface) for CloudStack: Project Primate. In this talk Paul discusses why this new UI is required, the history of this project and how it will be included in future CloudStack releases.
Running Cloudstack and OpenShift with NetApp on KVM, Sven Vogel. This talk provides an insight into the way in which we at EWERK run OpenShift (kubernetes) Clusters on Cloudstack.
SPEAKERS
Giles Sirett is a committer and PMC member of the Apache CloudStack project, and Chairman of the European CloudStack User Group. He is also CEO & founder of ShapeBlue, the leading independent CloudStack integrator & consultancy.. He has worked with many high-profile organisations, helping them strategise, design and implement CloudStack based clouds. Giles is an active contributor to the Apache CloudStack project and has spoken at all CloudStack Collaboration conferences, Linuxcon, and other events.
Andre Paul is a long standing IT-infrastructure expert and has been with itelligence for almost 20 years. Within his role as Service Architect he has supported several infrastructure projects out of the German itelligence Data Center in Bautzen. When not at work, you might see him riding bikes and shredding snow covered slopes.
Robert Sander has worked with the Linux Operating System since 1995. After obtaining his academic degree in computer science, he was responsible for the IT of a transatlantic biotech company using Debian GNU / Linux as the foundation of their infrastructure. He worked there for 12 years, gaining experience in networking, storage and email. He is now LPIC-3 certified, and working as senior consultant for Heinlein-Support.
Paul Angus is Chairman / VP of the Apache CloudStack Project, VP Technology / Cloud Architect for ShapeBlue and an Apache CloudStack Committer. He consults with a number of large service providers and enterprises and is responsible for ShapeBlue’s technical strategy. Paul regularly speaks at CloudStack conferences as well as for Ansible at a number of events. Paul has worked with clients such as Centrica, Orange Telecom, SunGard AS, Slovak Telecom, Paddy Power, Sky, TomTom, SAP and British Telecom.
Sven Vogel is a Senior Infrastructure Consultant and Lead Cloud Solution Architect. 10+ years experience in infrastructure Project Lead. Sven is Lead of the Platform/Infrastructure Team in EWERK.
