Co-composition processes

The Centre for Creative-Relational Inquiry (CCRI) is part of the University of Edinburgh. It fosters innovative qualitative research that places the relational at its heart. Key to the vision for the Centre is that it develop the ‘creative-relational’ as a dynamic conceptual frame for vibrant, incisive research.

This event explores co-composition processes during which, physical and sonic material can be concurrently produced, rearranged and transformed in a performative and interactive manner. The first part of the event involves the screening of a short film of practical manifestations of co-composition and a presentation-discussion about the research process and the theoretical concepts of the work. The second part of the event includes a workshop session exploring the transformative potential of the creative process of co-composition within a social context based on the way it is experienced, understood and further expanded through audience participation and their physical actions. 
 
Who is this event for?  Participants will have an interest in interdisciplinary creative processes, hybrid, participatory and interactive forms of art, and performance and practice as forms of inquiry. They will be willing to participate in discussions and workshop sessions. 
 
Eleni-Ira Panourgia is an artist-researcher working at the intersections of sculpture, visual-spatial dimensions and sound in a performative and interactive way in relation to audiences, material processes and technologies. Eleni-Ira has recently completed her PhD in Art at the University of Edinburgh, as a scholar of the Onassis Foundation. Eleni-Ira is a member of Greek Sculptors’ Association, the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and RAFT Research group, co-founder of sIREN Research Network and co-founder and editor of Airea: Arts and Interdisciplinary Research Journal.
