Co-Producing Across Borders
Overview
Online Workshop with Marc Lorber
Cross-border collaboration opens up additional finance, market access, and creative potential, but only if you understand how the systems work. This workshop gives independent producers and creative companies a grounded, realistic introduction to the essentials of international co-production and funding strategy.
You’ll learn how to identify the right partners and how co-production treaties and market approaches can help unlock otherwise unreachable resources. We’ll examine how to access international funds, tax incentives, and co-production grants, and how to structure budgets that satisfy multi-territory requirements without compromising the project’s creative spine.
The session is led by Marc Lorber, a Bafta, Emmy and International Emmy-nominated Executive Producer whose recent EP credits include Mixtape (Foxtel/Binge/BBC), Northern Lights (4 IFTA nominations), Video Nasty (BBC), and The Boy That Never Was (RTÉ). He has recently packaged and financed series across Europe, the Middle East, and Australasia, working with partners such as BBC, Sky NZ, TVNZ, ImageNation, and Starzplay.
You’ll leave with practical frameworks, sharper decision-making on partnerships and finance, and a clearer sense of how to take ambitious projects beyond domestic constraints and into the global marketplace.
