<h3><strong>COACHING IN A THINKING ENVIRONMENT with LINDA ASPEY</strong></h3><h3>Masterclass Outline</h3><p>A core task of coaching is to create the best quality conditions for people to think well for themselves because the quality of everything we do depends on the quality of the thinking we do first, a simple yet impactful observation made over 40 years ago by Nancy Kline of Time to Think.

</p><p>From this observation evolved the Thinking Environment - 10 principles or “components” that improve thinking, relationships, communication, inclusion, decisions, outcomes and culture.  In coaching, it means creating high quality conditions for your clients to think for themselves, so being present, attentive and deeply interested in where someone’s own thinking will go is key to this.  When we listen to ignite, not to respond, wonderful things happen!
</p><h3></h3><h3>Masterclass Aims &amp; Objectives</h3><ul><li>To share key principles of how to create a Thinking Environment in both one to one and group coaching.
</li><li>To experiment with giving and receiving Generative Attention and to see and feel how it facilitates independent thinking that is rigorous, imaginative, courageous and deeply satisfying for the client / thinker. 
</li><li>To explore how the Thinking Environment is a way of being fully wholeheartedly present more than it is a tool, and yet it has many uses. 
</li><li>To consider how your coaching practice – and indeed your life - can be enhanced when you create and experience Thinking Environments. 
</li></ul><p></p><h3>Masterclass Content</h3><ul><li>What is a Thinking Environment and why does independent thinking matter?
</li><li>Exploring the “10 Components” we have observed that produce the best environment for independent thinking.
</li><li>The simple yet powerful differences between listening to respond and listening to ignite, and the liberating effect for both the client and the coach.
</li><li>How knowing you will not be interrupted helps people to think better. 
</li><li>What the human mind can do for itself when it’s on a roll, creating Incisive Questions that remove and replace untrue limiting assumptions and blocks, when the coach focuses more on being and less on doing.</li></ul>

<h3>Linda Aspey</h3><p>Linda Aspey is a qualified Time to Think Coach, Facilitator, Consultant, Thinking Partnership Teacher, a member of the Time to Think Global Faculty that teaches, qualifies and supervises  Time to Think practitioners, and Managing Director of Aspey Associates.

</p><p>With a masters degree in Strategic HR, she is a registered accredited member of BACP and a Fellow of BACP, an External Examiner for the University of East London Psychology, Counselling &amp; Coaching Unit, and is a writer, speaker, facilitator of The Work That Reconnects, and a climate activist. </p>
