The broad purpose of coaching is to empower and engage with the coachee to achieve their goals. It is a way of leading in a non-directive manner, helping to learn through deep listening and reflective, open questions rather than instructing, giving advice, or making suggestions.
Non-directive, Non-judgmental. Coach enables you to come out with your own solution and to challenge and raise self-awareness.
Your coach can support you through:
- Helping you to understand your hidden skills and capabilities.
- Spotting the barriers you create for yourself
- Identifying your development goals
- Helping you to clarify the pathway from current state to future state
What to expect from your coach
- Contracting with you to agree how you work together
- Ask you powerful questions to deepen learning and insight
- Help you to recognise your own strengths and build on these
- Challenge your thinking and any limiting beliefs
- Support your own reflective practice
- Act as a confidential sounding board
- Hold you accountable and encourage open feedback to further develop self-awareness
- Encourage you to move to action
