Activity information on the day-

You will be able to lock any valuables in the company vehicles, although Adventure south do not take responsibility for any lost or stolen items. This activity should take just over 3.5 hours from the time we first meet to saying goodbye. roughly 2 hours of this time you will physically spend coasteering.

Due to the remote location we use we cannot provide changing facilities, an area we cover with a mat is available to change on for you convenience. We recommend using a changing robe.

Where to meet-

The meeting point for this activity is the Gara Rock field car park, located next to The Gara Rock Hotel, near East Portlemouth.

-Arriving at the Location-

When you arrive take the second left turn into the field car park, you will see a hut on your left as you drive in, there is a £2 charge for parking (cash only). Follow the dirt track down until you see the Adventure South company vehicle parked on the left-hand side.

-Traveling to the location-

Gara Rock is an isolated place with much of the journey on single lane roads. During the busier season (June -September) the roads can become congested, we suggest leaving plenty of journey time before you set off. It can be a good 20-30 minutes drive to Gara Rock from Kingsbridge, and 30-40 minutes from Salcombe. We kindly ask everyone to arrive 15 minutes before the activity start time. Due to the remoteness of the area phone signal is pretty poor.

-Bad Weather on the day-

We will always endeavour to give you as much warning as possible days in advance if we think the weather is going to turn against us on the day. Unfortunately, the decision to cancel an activity might have to be made once we arrive at the location due to rough sea conditions. Obviously this is an inconvenience but sometimes cannot be avoided, safety is always our number one priority. If we cancel  due to bad weather, we can offer to either reschedule you for another day, offer a gift voucher, or a full refund.

-Safety Notice; Please read carefully-

Adventure South value the safety and wellbeing of all our clients and instructors above anything else. At times coasteering can be a very physical activity that might present stressful, dynamic, and changing environment's throughout the experience, such as jumping from cliffs or rocky arears into the sea, swim in open sea and rough swell, and potential to long exposure to the cold. Before taking part in this experience please ensure you fully understand the requirements being asked of yourself, so that your expectations are consistent with would this activity is offering.

If you have any concerns regarding your health or wellbeing when coasteering please contact Adventure South
