About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

Alan Turing’s code breaking work saved countless lives by protecting ocean going craft (many of which were built in Barrow!). He was also a biologist, who’s work informed our understanding of how the infinite variety of stripes, spots, scales and feathers are formed in nature. In this session participants will enjoy a range of activities inspired by Turing’s patterns and will get a chance to test their codebreaking skills! We’ll be making morse code bracelets, ceaser cyphers, models of the enigma machine, and more.
