<P>Codepen founder Mark Bucknell created the platform to help local developers get to know each other, learn the latest technologies & best practices and share their knowledge and skills with the rest of the community.</P>

<P><STRONG>Talk 1: An introduction to GraphQL</STRONG>, by Danny Kay, JavaScript Developer @ Sky</P>
<P>GraphQL is a query language that allows us to get exactly what we require from our API’s. Danny will be going over the basics, pros and cons and showing a demo. </P>
<P><STRONG>Talk 2: Building domain-specific languages in Lisp</STRONG>, by Mike Clarke, Full Stack Dev @ Lambda Functions</P>
<P>DSLs allow solutions to be expressed in the language and at the appropriate level of abstraction for their domain. Mike will cover some different approaches, and show us how to design and build a simple DSL in Lisp.</P>
<P><STRONG>Talk 3: Building smart cities with LoRa</STRONG>, by Robin Harris, Director @ Ayelands Associates Ltd.</P>
<P>LoRa is a low powered radio networking technology that takes the Internet of Things onto the next level. LoRa lets you add useful wide area networking to tiny embedded devices for just a few pounds. LoRaWan builds on this to give you an easy route to servers and services on the internet.</P>
<P>In this session we'll explain the benefits and limitations of this exciting new technology and show a fully working, end to end, solution in action. We'll tell you how to get started making LoRa powered devices so you can get involved in building Hull's Smart city.</P>
