Coproduction workshop with researchers and community organisations to develop our consultation into a plan for Byres Community Hub at UofG

We would like to invite community, voluntary, third sector and statutory organisations in Glasgow to join us on Wed 23 Nov 10am-12noon to take part in a workshop to help develop our School of Health and Wellbeing&#x27;s community hub.As part of our university&#x27;s civic mission and our school&#x27;s commitment to addressing health inequalities, the new Clarice Pears building has been designed to welcome the public in and we are developing Byres Community Hub to better connect our research and researchers with local organisations so that together we can respond to health and wellbeing challenges. We particularly welcome representation from organisations who are engaged with communities in Glasgow most impacted by health inequalities. The workshop will bring together our community engagement team, researchers in the School of Health and Wellbeing, our project partners the Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC) and the Glasgow Science Centre (GSC) together with representatives from organisations across Glasgow. We want to look more closely at the results of our on-going consultation and plan meaningful engagement in Byres Community Hub. We hope that you can join us to be part of this exciting new chapter of the School of Health and Wellbeing and the wider University. Please email susan.g.grant@glasgow.ac.uk if you have any questions or have any requirements to make participation possible and more enjoyable such as accessible transport, reimbursement for time by way of a shopping voucher, access to a prayer room or dietary considerations as morning refreshments will be provided. The workshop will be held in the Advanced Research Centre (ARC) at University of Glasgow adjacent to the Clarice Pears. This event is being held during the Scottish Community Development Centre&#x27;s Co-production Week Scotland 2022. &quot;Following years of planning and consultation, it is fantastic to see the Clarice Pears nearing the stage of completion and our vision for an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming space for users and visitors to the building come to fruition. We hope that with its meeting and social spaces and a changing places toilet that the Clarice Pears becomes part of the community and that the engagement in the public spaces and through the community hub will influence the learning, teaching and research in our School and lead to new coproduced research and social innovations in tackling health inequalities.” Professor Sara Macdonald, Director of Engagement, Innovation and Enterprise, School of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow.
