The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is working to engineer a better world. Our heritage dates back to 1871, and today our mission is to inspire, inform and influence the global engineering community, supporting technology innovation to meet the needs of society.The IET produces a wide range of engineering-themes resources and activity days for STEM teachers (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Our resources allow teachers to give practical and real-life context to their lessons both in the form of our award-winning STEM resources www.ietfaraday.org and Faraday Challenge Days www.ietfaraday.org/challenge-days.

Are you a teacher and wondering what you can do with the BBC micro:bit in your lessons? Perhaps you're a Year 7 student who has just received a BBC micro:bit via your school and want to know how it works? Maybe you are a parent and want to know more?
The Institution of Engineering and Technology are running a series of events around the whole of the UK to inspire and inform the general public about the BBC micro:bit and how you can learn to code with it and program it to do some really cool stuff! 
This is a drop-in style event where you can work your way around our BBC micro:bit zones to not only have fun but also challenge your perceptions about careers in engineering and digital technology. 
Come and join our code crew and find out more! All events are free but registration is essential.
*Please make sure you register all individuals, rather than make group bookings, to allow permission onto the site.
