Description
- a coding masterclass using text based coding
Sniff is a text based e-programming language that you already know, because Sniff is just text based Scratch.
Explore the latest thinking and practical examples from lecturers from BU.
This will help you move your confident students on from Scratch. By simply typing out the same commands you would previously have selected with a mouse you can move from Blocks to text, and Scratchers can be confidently programming in a text based language within a singe lesson. However because Sniff is a compiled, text based language it can be used to create much larger, “real” programs, which run on a range of hardware including PC’s, Arduino, Pi, EV3 and Gameboy. In this session we’ll teach you to program Sniff, and use it to make a health and fitness device.
Find out about other popular text based languages to progress from scratch, like python, processing (Java and Python based) as well as the tweak module.
All coding / tech ambassdors, computing teachers and professional or ex coders who can help students are welcome - entering the Code Challenge or not.
