Refuge 4 Pets and Barnardos invite you to join this webinar to support the workforce to develop their knowledge and practice in the context of the Victim/Survivor experience of Coercive Control. We encourage Practitioners from domestic abuse services, housing, health, local authorities, probation, policing, social care and family court professionals to attend .
In this webinar Dr Mary Wakeham and Fleur Buechler are joined by experts in the field; Samantha Billingham from Stronger Beginnings, Professor Emeritus Marianne Hester OBE FAcSS- Centre for Gender & Violence Research, School for Policy Studies, University of Bristol and Editor in Chief, Journal of Gender-Based Violence, Marcia Hyde - 42BR Barristers and Catherine Haworth - Haworth Family Law .
The panel collaborate to share;
- The lived experiences of engaging with professionals and Children as victims in their own right.
- The Three Planet Model- which highlights the many contradictions victim-survivors experience across the planets.
- An introduction to the ‘Fourth Planet’ and need for an integrated approach to safeguarding across human and animal health and welfare sectors.
- The law and enhancing our practice to provide evidence and advocacy around Coercive Control.

Training will start promptly at the time specified, with a safety and caution briefing. Particpants seeking to join 15 minutes after the start will not be permitted.
Due to the nature of the content covered in this training we ask that you ensure you are either in a private space or wearing headphones while attending the session.
Cancellations can be made through your Eventbrite account, or via 'Manage my booking' on the original booking confirmation.
By booking a space on training, you understand that your booking information will be shared with Cornwall Council, commissioners, and funding providers as part of funding requirements.
