Coffee Tasting: Sensory Workshop

Coffee Tasting: Sensory Workshop

The Social Hub MaastrichtMaastricht
Sunday, Mar 22 from 1 pm to 3 pm
Overview

Taste coffee like a barista! Guided coffee tasting using cupping and pour-over, exploring different origins, flavours.

Join us for a relaxed and sensory coffee tasting workshop where curiosity meets craft. This session is all about slowing down, tasting intentionally, and discovering how origin, processing, and brewing methods shape what’s in your cup - while exploring the journey of your cup from farm to roastery.

We’ll dive into the world of single-origin coffee, short supply chains, and fair working conditions, highlighting how every step—from the farmer to your local roastery—matters for a sustainable coffee industry. See the faces behind your coffee, understand its journey, and discover how conscious choices make a real impact on people, communities, and the planet.

Sip, learn, and experience coffee the sustainable way.

During this hands-on cupping experience, you’ll learn how to taste coffee like a barista, guided through the basics of flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel. We’ll explore three single-origin coffees, each with its own story, alongside one master blend, all sourced from Dutch Barista.

The tasting will use a pour-over cupping technique, with a short presentation followed by time to ask questions, chat, and enjoy the space together.

What you’ll learn

  • How professional cupping works and how to taste coffee mindfully
  • How to identify basic flavor notes, acidity, body, and aroma
  • What makes coffee from different origins taste distinct
  • The difference between single-origin coffees and blends
  • How brewing methods (like pour-over) influence taste
  • How to better describe what you’re tasting—and trust your palate
