NCACE Policy Workshop - Collaborations in Placemaking:  Shining a Light on the Contribution of Higher Education  and Cultural Partnerships

NCACE is a new initiative led by <a href="https://www.theculturecapitalexchange.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">TCCE</a> and funded by <a href="https://re.ukri.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Research England </a>to facilitate and support capacity for Knowledge Exchange between Higher Education and the arts and cultural sector across the UK, with a particular focus on evidencing and showcasing the social, cultural, environmental, as well as economic, impacts of such activities. Place-making is one of four key themes underpinning our work over the course of the next few years. We are creating spaces for conversations and an evidence repository around place-based cultural strategies and collaborations, how these are emerging and the role that local, regional and national policy, funding initiatives and other factors are playing in their development.Collaborations in Place-making: Shining a Light on the Contribution of Higher Education and Cultural Partnerships sets out to:<ul><li>Highlight the growing role of place-based partnerships between key stakeholders including: Higher Education, the arts and cultural sector, local authorities, community partnerships and the private sector</li></ul><ul><li>Showcase different types of models that are evolving and how such partnerships have been developing</li></ul><ul><li>Better understand their benefits and challenges and what is needed to support future successful developments within the wider ecosystem</li></ul><ul><li>Create space to bring together researchers, practitioners, policy-makers and funders for information-sharing and exchange.</li></ul>This event is aimed at those with an interest in placemaking, levelling up/out and the role that cultural knowledge exchange collaborations are currently playing or indeed have the potential play in addressing the challenges of post-pandemic recovery across the country.We warmly invite attendees from across the higher education, arts and cultural, local and regional government, policymakers and other public and private sector bodies working in this field to join us for a morning of key notes, case studies, panel discussions and workshops around this timely theme. We also welcome proposals for contributions and/or case studies around the nature, drivers and impacts of placemaking partnerships between HEIs and the arts and cultural sector and would love to hear about initiatives that are both established and emerging.
