Learn new skills. Network. Engage. Collaborate. Develop your practice. Feel renewed.
This mini course is especially suitable for writers, artists and designers with some experience of collaboration. It also works as a follow up for those who attended Caroline Bergvall's pilot workshop ‘Solitary to Solidary’ in August 2020.
Caroline Bergvall has been practising as a writer, performer and facilitator for over 20 years. Her practice is interdisciplinary and stretches across various artforms, media and language. Her works include books, performances, installations, soundworks and print. The workshop features some of Caroline Bergvall’s approaches to writing and aims to support you with your own practice.
Prepare to be open and engaged in a welcoming and diverse creative environment. You’ll finish the workshop feeling refreshed, confident and excited to try new writing and working techniques.
There are a small number of bursaries available on application - in order to be eligible, you must fill in the questionnaire provided when you reserve your busary ticket.
Collaborative Processes: Solitary to Solidary
Join Caroline Bergvall for this masterclass focused on deepening collaborative writing methods and exploring shared practice strategies.
Work together. Work differently. Be responsive.
The aim of this mini-course is to explore tools and strategies that favour a collaborative mindset. It promotes teamwork, responsiveness, exchange and co-creation.
It aims to support a new spirit against the isolation and divisiveness of a post-COVID-19 world.
It favours self-awareness and values listening practise towards one another’s identity, diverse background as well as cultural experiences and can transform the way you approach your future writing in partnership with others.
Collaborate. Create. Beat isolation.
The workshop is brief-led and geared towards small group work. Outputs are team-based and can be a combination of mixed media, video, audio, and text-based work.
Expect to:
o Join in collaborative group exercises and discussions
o See/hear examples and models of collaborative work
o Apply values of exchange and negotiation
o Develop a shared pool of resources
o Explore your own sense of commitment
o Engage in team-building and test new ways of working
