During this one day Comedy Acting Masterclass, we will learn about<ul><li>Comedy timing</li><li>Finding the comedy when it’s not obvious in the script.</li><li>Joke structure</li></ul>This workshop is particularly suitable if you are looking to:<ul><li>Strenghten your comedy acting skills as a comedian</li><li>Improve your comedy skills as an actor</li><li>Make clear choices in self tapes for comedic roles as an actor</li></ul> We will explore how you can draw on your own real-life experiences and people you've met or know to find your funny and we’ll be applying this learning to our acting process.We will also examine some iconic comedy performances and characters, explaining why they work, and through that, learn tools and methods to apply when creating and preparing your comedy characters. About Beth Granville:Beth started writing and performing her own comedy sketches in Barry, South Wales,when Ruth Jones came across her talent and kickstarted her professional career incomedy, (fair play). Beth appeared in Gavin and Stacey (BBC) and Stella (Sky One).Beth spent 2017 as part of The Comedy Room, the BBC’s development programme forcomedy writers. Some of her current projects include, the development of her firstfeature film with Mark Gordon Pictures and writing for the new Mitchell and Webb TVsketch show. Beth works as a Script Consultant and Director, working on a range of scripts for stand up comedy and theatre, working most recently with Tom Ward (QI, Live at the Apollo), Divina De Campo (The Voice, RuPaul’s Drag Race), Ash Holme (1.3m+ Tik Tok, Antics With Ash Podcast), Freya Mallard (100k+ TikTok, Leicester Square New Comedian Finalist) and Tom Price (Torchwood, Magic FM). This workshop is part of Pigeon Laughs Short Film Comedy FestivalThe purchase of a workshop entry includes free entry to all Festival screenings.
