What you will learn
In the workshop, we’ll learn about the versatility of comic diaries and their storytelling impact. Taking inspiration from our daily lives, we will lean into drawing and writing from instinct, developing a personal voice to tell our stories in authentic, unique and compelling ways. The goal of comic diaries is simply to understand yourself better, which makes all the difference in getting the world to know you.

Claire Innes

I like to fire on all cylinders creatively. Never not thinking about communication and how to do it best. Trained as an Architect to design buildings, but instead became obsessed with the life that goes on within them.

"Combining quick images and words is an accessible method of self-expression that still manages to create an immediate impact. Storytelling has the power to change the world, and it begins with us, so I want to help others develop their voice and gain confidence."

The Alley Way Learning Programme is a community learning project by Hastings Commons. The programme makes learning accessible and inclusive for local communities and people. We take learning out of usual educational environments and create learning spaces that empower people with new skills, build a supportive community network, and grow confidence.
