How to apply this creatively.</li><li>Anatomy and proportion of the body</li><li>The head, hair, eyes, nose, mouth. Proportion and relationship. Clothing and folds</li><li>Features and expression</li><li>Composition of the image.</li><li>Structure of the page (page layout). Organisation of space, spatial relation between frames. Story-telling –frame by frame – the script.</li><li>Relating one scene to the next.</li><li>Creative development of the story using close up/long shot/American field/split image.</li><li>Lettering- how to design lettering. Interpretation of the script. Speech balloons Onomatopoeia.</li><li>The strip</li><li>Personages. The baddie,the hero, the stooge, the heroine.</li><li>Caricature</li><li>Background. Landscapes/ interiors. Perspective. Relationship between person and his environment.</li><li>Inking. Use of black and white. Contrast, shadows. Varying the line.</li><li>Colour circle, mixing colour, different techniques: watercolour spraying, tempera, sponging, texture effects.</li><li>Animal drawing</li><li>Drawing types of transport</li><li>Walt Disney, his films, structure and characterisation.</li><li>Study of superheroes such as Marvel</li><li>Manga</li><li>Hanna Barbera</li><li>Looney Tunes</li><li>.French style cartoons</li><li>Children’s book illustration</li></ul>

ABOUT THE TEACHER William Stok trained at St Martin's School of Art and has a very long career as a comics designer and illustrator, and as a painter and sculptor and has been teaching all age-groups, from children to secondary and university and college level.EXPERIENCE AS AN ARTIST William has published with major editorial and advertising companies,childrens’ books, making animation films for television and worked in advertising and has exhibited in many galleriesPRIVATE COLLECTIONSHis work is in the collections of the Tate gallery, the Victoria &Albert museum, HRH King Charles III.
