Committee Workshop

At Surrey Federation of WIs we aim to inspire our 8,000 members belonging to over 170 WIs. We hold many different events, where members and potential members can get to know each other, and become involved in all sorts of interesting activities. We enthuse,  enhance and enrich their lives, encourage them to learn, develop and share new skills, widen their friendship circles, and provide them with a voice and the confidence to influence issues at local and national level.

NFWI approved workshops for new and existing Committees.

A selection of in person workshops to help Committee members, Secretaries and Presidents to understand their role better, know where to find help, learn from Advisers and each other and explore resources.These workshops will be aimed at current committee members and officers and members who may be considering volunteering for these roles. We encourage at least one person from your WI to sign up and take good practice ideas and information back to your WI.The WI is continually evolving and we are conscious of trying to help you all to stay informed and relevant so you are able to offer members the best WI experience you can.Each workshop is 2 hours long. The Committee workshop covers many aspects of being on the committee and how to aid the smooth running of your WI.The President and Secretary workshops will explore in depth specific areas of focus and help you understand what needs to be done by a named officer and what can be delegated to any committee member or any member.We will introduce current regulations around data storage, photo consents, use of social media as well as all the usual information you need to run your WI.Before booking this ticket, you should seek the agreement of your WI members. The ticket cost may be reclaimed from your WI.This session will be via zoom and the ticket cost is for the 1 x zoom link to be sent and as many of your WI members can share that screen at the same time.If your members are at different locations, you will need to book 2 or more tickets so that each zoom link is used for 1 screen only.Cost of a ticket is £9 per person.Surrey WI members only!If you have any questions about this event please use the contact details listed below at the bottom of the page.Please remember to check your junk mail for the confirmation email from Eventbrite sent directly after booking.Make sure you scroll right to the bottom of the email though for zoom log on details.If you haven’t received email confirmation please contact the office before 3pm on the day of the event.
