Crafts Council x Creative Debuts presents Common Thread: The Talk, a celebration of the diverse creatives in the UK and beyond. We believe in the power of storytelling through craft, art, and design. To mark Black History Month, we will be providing a platform for the talents of tomorrow to tell their stories. 
Join us to see the works of 25 artists reflecting on African-Caribbean history, identity, and culture. Expect to see works including photography, ceramics, textiles, embroidery, digital art, sculpture, and an opportunity to meet the artists! 
We will also hold a panel talk where you will hear from creatives across the arts including music, craft, fashion, and more. Join us to have an honest conversation about their creative journeys, representation in the arts, any barriers to success, solutions to these issues, and an opportunity to ask questions yourselves. Common Thread: The Talk will be hosted by actress and dancer <A HREF="https://www.kelechiokafor.com/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Kelechi Okafor</A> and our panellists will include graffiti artist <A HREF="http://dreph.co.uk/about/biography/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dreph</A>, entrepreneur and presenter <A HREF="http://junesarpong.com/#event-kiss-fm" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">June Sarpong MBE</A>, music and culture journalist <A HREF="http://www.jessebernard.com/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jesse Bernard</A> who has written for NME, FADER, Crack, Dazed, and Complex, South African singer <A HREF="https://www.instagram.com/toyadelazy/?hl=en" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Toya Delazy</A>, and visual artist <A HREF="http://simonebrewster.co.uk/about/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Simone Brewster</A>.
The money raised through ticket sales will be given to our <A HREF="http://bit.ly/2FqOwSW" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Young People’s Programme</A> to support empower them to deliver creative activities and inform our creative programming.
 
Tickets
Panel Talk + Exhibition 7 - 10pm (Doors open 6.30pm) Tickets cost £10 tickets and include the panel talk, access to the exhibition, a goodie bag, and a complimentary drink upon arrival. Please note the event is over 18s only, doors open at 6:30pm and the talk starts promptly at 7pm.
Exhibition Only 8-10pm We ask for £3 to support our campaign to inspire a new generation of creatives who want to break the mould as well as being part of that journey as a cultural organisation ourselves. Please note the event is over 18s only and entry will start from 8pm.
