Event description

Description

We’ve partnered with the Commonwealth to deliver a series of Commonwealth Roadshow events in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Youth Programme. We will be putting on not one, but FOUR roadshows across the UK! What a fantastic opportunity this will be for young people.

The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of 53 independent and equal sovereign states and is home to 2.4 billion people, of which more than 60% are under the age of 30. The Commonwealth sees young people as assets to a country’s development who should be empowered to realise their potential. Young people have a proven capability to lead change and are a vital and valuable investment for now and the future. Member countries are supported by a network of more than 80 intergovernmental, civil society, cultural and professional organisations.

We will be doing these roadshows in the run-up to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and the Commonwealth Youth Forum in April. These are an opportunity for young people to come together to learn more about the Commonwealth and the work of the Commonwealth Secretariat as they provide a space for young people to share questions about the Commonwealth, as well as their own ideas. This gives them the opportunity to contribute to a fairer, more prosperous, sustainable and more secure Commonwealth future for all young people.
