This Webinar is aimed at commissioners/ funders, it is an opportunity for Small Steps Big Changes to share learning from the Ideas Fund Programme and Community based commissioning approach during the 10 year programme which delivered the National Lottery Community Fund A Better Start Programme in Nottingham.
SSBC commissioned two reports that have focused on our place based/community based commissioning approaches and the learning we have developed from this, in particular around commissioning small voluntary sector organisations to deliver, in many cases new types of service offers at a community level.
We now have two reports;
· one focused on our Ideas Fund project- a ‘small grant’ approach ranging from £3,00 - £30,000 over three years this was an independently commissioned report and some of the findings were shared at our annual conference in September.
· The second report which looks at and considers the Programme wide commitment to put funding directly into communities with a strong focus on funding VCS organisations to grow ‘social value’ and community capacity building through investing in small capital works grants, commissioning VCS organisations to deliver core contracts etc.
