Why?Tackling the Climate Emergency is going to take us all, and together we can think bigger and smarter. Sharing information, insights, resources and actions can generate new ideas and energy. We can also offer collective support with challenges that can be associated when facing climate change in terms of comprehending the information, feelings of uncertainty, or just being unsure where to start. Cafes will be a great way to get a climate conversation started in our community and provide a valuable opportunity to celebrate and connect people engaged with local, national and international climate action. How?Our community events will be held at The Front Room in High Wycombe, with the opportunity to buy snacks and drinks before we start. It will be relaxed and informal so that you can drop in, have a slice of cake and a chat (cake optional!). Every Café will feel warm, open and inclusive to all. It is a space where you can come to share your own insights and to feel informed, inspired and supported.Our group of coordinators and facilitators will ensure that everyone feels welcome to contribute and that we maintain a safe environment for discussion. Expect the chat to be wide-ranging and solutions-focused, with a positive emphasis on what we can do and how we can all realise our unique qualities and skillsets.The structure of each event will vary - some will have a particular theme with an associated introductory talk and some will simply provide an open forum for discussion.The Community Climate Cafe has three clear aims:1) To create a space that welcomes all members of local communities to share ideas and feelings regarding the climate and ecological crisis2) To share information about the situation we face and to inspire positive action3) To offer collective support with the challenges that can be associated when facing the prospects of maintaining a liveable future
