Community Connector training - Shepton Mallet

Community Connector training - Shepton Mallet

Shepton Mallet LibraryShepton Mallet, England
Wednesday, Feb 11 from 2 pm to 3 pm GMT
Overview

Come and train to be a Community Connector

  • One hour, simple, fun, training session
  • Anyone and everyone can be a Community Connector

Community Connectors are members of the community who signpost friends, family, colleagues and neighbours to information access points from where they can find out about support groups, services, opportunities and resources that might help improve their health and well being. If you would like to become a Community Connector, it is not about adding another job to your already busy day, but about using appropriate opportunities to inform people about the support that is out there.

The more people there are out in local communities who know what support is available, the more we can help each other. To date we have trained 2,000 + people.

Everyone is welcome at this session, being held at Shepton Mallet Library.

Police, taxi drivers, hairdressers, charity workers, health and social care professionals, café staff, students, supermarket staff, parents, grandparents, housebound people, job centre staff …have all been trained as Communtiy Connectors.

“Having the extra knowledge when talking with people who need help and support will be so valuable.” ~ Police Community Support Officer.

“This has been a very informative and helpful workshop. I never knew there was so much support out there!” ~ Community member.
