USW Exchange is the hub for collaboration and creating connections with industry at the University of South Wales. The University of South Wales is holding a Community Fair with a focus upon the use of digital technologies for community organisations. The event is aimed at staff and volunteers of community organisations in the Cardiff Capital Region. Unlock the potential of your smartphone in this interactive workshop. Develop your smartphone photography skills with guidance on camera basics, portraiture, composition, and simple editing techniques. Learn how to easily scan old photographs and through digital storytelling capture cherished memories to create archives for your community. Dive into the world of basic filmmaking with hands-on exercises, exploring various shot types and editing on your phone using a variety of free apps, these could be made for promotional material or evidence for grant applications. Your smartphone could become a powerful tool for visual storytelling and expression. There will also be an opportunity to network with staff at the University of South Wales over lunch to develop and strengthen relationships between the university and community organisations. The event will be held at the Atrium, 86-88 Adam Street, Cardiff CF24 2FN between 12.30-3.30pm on Wednesday 10th January.
