About this event

  • 2 hours

Wade Muggleton is an expert on fruit trees and orchards and has helped create several community orchards in Worcestershire and beyond. Amongst his responsibities for Worcestershire County Council is community tree planting and he has led many work parties in Wyre Forest District. The Miyawaki method is an innovative concept developed in Japan to create tiny forests in urban areas in a way that makes them resistant to vandalism and highly attractive to wildlife. You will learn how to go about these community projects and how to access both practical help and funding. You will be sent a zoom link closer to the event.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this event for?

Any individual who is interested in local food growing or wildlife. Organisations concerned with community action, well-being and health improvement. Parish and Town Councils wishing to engage their residents in enhancing the local area and building community involvement.

I represent an organisation. How can I get them involved?

Do encourage other members of your group to also book tickets and attend. It is much easier to initiate action if a number of you are engaged and informed.

How long is this session?

We expect to finish by 9.30 pm but could continue if there are lots of questions.

Will there be an opportunity for a practical session

We hope to organise a site visit and perhaps a work party in the Autumn to try out some of the techniques.
