Community Sewing

All Souls Church & Community CentreNottingham
Tuesday, Feb 17 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm GMT
Overview

At Tiger we make various items for the community, join us to help with the making and improve skills at the same time.

Tiger Green Textiles is about bringing people together to learn and share skills. We also continue to support the community by making items for a local hospital, that support period poverty, that support women going into refuges, merchandise for groups and Tiger.

We also have our eye on sustainability, sharing ideas on how to make simple changes to be more sustainable with your sewing projects..

We are excited to bring you our new sewing group taking place fortnightly at All Souls Community Centre.

  • Give back by helping us make items for the community
  • Learn skills from the range of items we make - drain bags, heart cushions, menstrual pads, toiletry bags, upcycled bags, handsewn keyrings, custom items
  • New to sewing and need some practice in a supportive environment
  • Opportunities to sew from home

Come and sew with us in a firendly social group with help when you need it.

Sessions will be every fortnight on Tuesday 10.30am-12.30pm

Venue: All Souls Community Centre, Ilkeston Road, Nottingham, NG7 3HF.

Cost of this session - free to attend - donations towards our costs are appricated

We will provide sewing machines, fabrics and haberdashery as well as refreshments.

There will be a small selection of fabric and haberdashery available to buy to support yor sewing projects.

Read more about the sewing expert below:

Toni Jarvis has been sewing since she can remember. Always wanting to be a ‘Fashion Designer’ when she grew up, she started her first business at 21 - The Shirt Workshop - designing and manufacturing menswear with a focus on bespoke shirts. Joining other designers to represent Nottingham at London Fashion Week in 1986. Family, working with young people, teaching sewing classes and launching Tiger Green Textiles has honed her skills further.
