Register HERE!WHATCommUnity Solves: Fundão is a 2-day healthy competition event in the city of Fundão, Center Portugal, from 15-17 November, 2019. The challenges will be presented by the Fundão municipality and their partners, themed around the following energy sectors:<ol><li>Wind/Energy Conversion</li><li>Biomass</li><li>Agriculture</li></ol>This exciting event will be the first of its kind in Fundão with the goal of fostering future partnerships and bring more start-ups and SMEs into the Fundão thriving ecosystem. CommUnity is proud to organize the event and help Fundão achieving their goals, while also increasing our network and further connect like-minded individuals in the energy transition.WHEREFundão municipality is the winner of the EU Regiostar Award 2018 in the category “Supporting smart industrial transition” with its Business and Shared Services Centre, a project combating economic decline and population loss by providing infrastructure and IT skills to businesses and helping innovative start-ups to enter the market. During the same weekend, the Míscaros - Mushroom Festival will occur in Fundão, with plenty of street entertainment and food tasting.WHOThe event will consist of 30-40 competition participants,, IST students,  as well as Fundão Municipality representatives, InnoEnergy employees, energy professionals, experts, and start-ups.HOWThe healthy competition will be a “hackathon” style event: <ol><li>Challenge partners will each present one challenge related to their industry sector to the participants;</li><li>Groups will be created and have one full day to formulate a solution;</li><li>Participants will be encouraged to work on disruptive solutions intended to push large innovation in industry and will be provided support from catalysts at the event as well as brainstorming and creative design tools;</li><li>These results will be well-thought radical propositions to the challenge partners that may foster further project development and collaboration;</li></ol>AGENDA17/11: Participants will be leaving from Lisbon Friday morning at 10:00 am, arriving in Fundão by lunchtime. Friday will be completed by soft skills activities, ice-breaking, and team formation. 18/11: The competition will officially begin on Saturday morning at the venue and will include a one-hour Company Fair for students to network with start-ups, challenge partners and other participants regarding possible internships, job opportunities or other informative sessions. 19/11: Optional cultural visit before heading back to Lisbon, arriving in the late evening.ADDITIONAL INFOTransport and accommodation are included. Participants will be hosted in the Casas da Mina Hostel and food will be provided over the course of the event.PURCHASE A TICKET TO RESERVE YOUR PLACE, IT WILL BE REFUNDED UPON ATTENDANCE.
