I'm new to Somatics, can I join?

Yes, it is a slow guided class to provide connection, no previous knowledge or experience needed of Somatics.

Question 3

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Think comfort, anything that is comfy for you to sit in and move in. Leggings, joggers or loos fitting clothes are great. We usually practice in socks or bare feet.

Question 4

Is it like a yoga class?

Accepted Answer

It won't be as physical as a yoga class, nor will we be creating certain postures. We are working to feel more of the sensations in the body, a fluid movement. No flexibility or fitness experience needed.

Question 5

is this like a group therapy session?

Accepted Answer

No, while somatic practices are deeply therapeutic and sometimes emotional, this is a facilitated group experience, not therapy and not suitable for clinical mental health therapy. It is a space for self-exploration and community connection.
