A BRITISH SUMMER’S DAY
Joanna Tomlinson, conductor
Helen Semple, soprano
Gavin Roberts, piano
A programme of beautiful choral pieces from some of the best British composers including Tallis, Elgar, Holst, Finzi and MacMillan, all with the theme of day or night. Soprano Helen Semple will sing solo songs by Stephen Storace (once a resident of the the Parish) and Elgar.
Conducted by the dynamic and sought-after conductor Joanna Tomlinson, Constanza Chorus was formed in 2010, and now has around 130 singers, and is based in the City of London. The choir focuses on singing the core choral repertoire, and concerts over the last six years have included Mozart, Verdi, Fauré and Brahms Requiems, Handel Messiah, Purcell Dido and Aeneas and Mendelssohn Elijah. In June 2015 the choir sang in Rome at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo and at a mass in St Peter’s.
